The Department of Textiles is implementing a project to set up Bhola Textile Institute at the initiative of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.
The main objective of establishing this textile institute is to provide executive level textile engineers in various sub-sectors of the textile sector at home and abroad, to create self-employment opportunities, alleviate poverty through self-employment, and to achieve economic development through creation of skilled manpower. This project will create huge opportunities for self-employment.
There are six residential buildings of the institute include boy’s and girl’s hostels, dormitories, rest houses, principal quarters and quarters for officers and staff.
There are six non-residential buildings - Academic cum Administrative Building, Cotton Spinning Shed, Weaving and Dyeing Shed, Knitting Shed, Workshop Building with Library, Jute Shed.
There are also boundary wall with youth guard sheds, internal roads, substations, external electrification, external sewerage and water supply, afforestation, solar panels, Shaheed Minar, sound system, AC and stage lighting for multipurpose halls.
